He was accompanied by two of his closest friends and colleagues, Dr. Prof. Georg Votana and Mrs. Naima Ben Mlouka, President of the Marine Foundation Tunisia. His untimely passing came as a profound shock to those who knew him, as he succumbed to the illness suddenly upon his return home.

Dr. Thomas Eberlein’s unwavering dedication to the causes of humanity, especially his deep love and commitment to Africa, marked his life’s journey. He inspired countless individuals through his work, bringing innovation and compassion to health, management, and social services education. His relentless pursuit of positive change and his passion for bettering the lives of others left an indelible mark on the world.

We sincerely thank Dr. Eberlein for his invaluable contributions and tireless spirit in advocating for education and humanitarian efforts. His passing has left a void in the hearts of many who admired, respected, and loved him.

As we remember Dr. Thomas Eberlein, we hold his memory close, cherishing his profound impact on those around him. May his legacy of love, dedication, and compassion continue to inspire us all.

the collaborative efforts of Naima Ben Mlouka, Dr. Prof. Georg Votana, and Dr. Thomas Eberlein:

In 2024, under the dynamic leadership of Naima Ben Mlouka, President of Marine Foundation Tunisia, the Marine Foundation achieved remarkable progress in healthcare, education, and professional training across Africa and the Arab world. Naima’s commitment to women’s health, both mental and physical, played a pivotal role in integrating IHM (Health International Education) and PAWH (Pan-African Wounds and Healing Association) into the foundation’s global structure, fostering collaboration among healthcare professionals and academics.

Working alongside Naima, Dr. Prof. Georg Votana and Dr. Thomas Eberlein were instrumental in launching key initiatives, including the creation of 25 scientific societies composed of over 1,000 distinguished professionals. They also pioneered the first International MBA in Health Management, equipping healthcare professionals with leadership and management skills. Together, they introduced the “Training of Trainers” program for diabetic foot wound care and facilitated the first ALECSO Congress, promoting cross-continental collaboration.

With a shared vision for advancing healthcare and education, Naima Ben Mlouka, Dr. Votana, and the late Dr. Eberlein laid the foundation for a unified mission that spans numerous countries, including Tunisia, Morocco, Mauritania, and beyond. Their legacy of innovation, collaboration, and empowerment will continue to shape the future of healthcare and education in the region.
