The Last Event of 2023 – Thankful for all the Donors and Supporters of this Year.

The Marine Foundation received an invitation to a special event on December 25th, celebrating its remarkable achievements over the past decade. This event marked a significant milestone in the Foundation’s journey towards becoming a globally recognized platform by 2024.

Interestingly, my invitation came as a pleasant surprise upon my return to Japan from an international trip, where I was engaged in discussions about the Foundation’s strategic positioning in a specific global region.

The evening’s highlight was the performance by the virtuoso pianist Arie Tomita, a member of a family that significantly supported the Marine Foundation in 2023. Arie and I collaborated on a rendition of Frank Sinatra’s classic, “My Way.” The event was further enlivened by the unexpected appearances of various guest musicians and performers, making it a memorable evening.

The event’s sponsorship was notably under the patronage of an anonymous benefactor, who preferred to maintain discretion during this period. This individual’s wish for privacy added an intriguing element to the occasion, while their generous support played a crucial role in the event’s success.

I would like to express my profound gratitude to our global members for their exceptional contributions and the inspiring projects they have submitted to our Tokyo office. These initiatives reflect the dedication, creativity, and commitment of our community towards making a meaningful impact.

I extend a special acknowledgment to our members across Africa, whose eagerness and anticipation for the establishment of the Marine Foundation throughout the continent is deeply moving. Your enthusiasm and support fuel our mission and vision, reinforcing our commitment to expanding our presence and impact across Africa.

A heartfelt thanks is especially owed to Philip Abel Bensouda for his remarkable initiative in the Gambia. His dedication to setting up an orphanage exemplifies the spirit of community and compassion that lies at the heart of our organization. This project is not just a testament to his personal commitment but also a beacon of hope and support for the children who will benefit from this safe and nurturing environment.
