Highlights:

Refreshing moments sometimes can really make up for heavy days of hard work. Today Ayumi told me she found a public bath not far in our neighborhood and that may we should try that for a change. Indeed, back in the days, when I was all alone in Japan, these public baths in Japan called “sento” became my home away from home. Its the most wonderful experience a newcomer to Japanese culture could actually experience.

Reports:

Sento:

Yes this was refreshing indeed and brought me back to the days of Kamakura. Going to a “sento” had that much effect on me today. I really appreciate the Japanese culture in so many ways. Especially this place being very old and and conceived as I experienced it the very first time when on my first arrival in Japan at a station called “Shin-Koiwa”. The outskirt of Tokyo is usually called “Downtown” but does not refer to the central part of the city as we know in the United States. So when I woke up the next morning and was told this was a “downtown” of the city, I thought “wow” Tokyo is kind of cute. 3 days later when I took my first train to the real center of Tokyo, oh yes I was surprised and since not understanding any of the language back then I felt secured in the little neighborhood I so was welcomed to on my first arrival to Asia. That was over 25 years ago.

Immediate Follow up:

Trip to Liberia: Define if we will travel from Japan to Liberia in the occasion to meet President George Weah, also a football legend. I am presently preparing the presentation of our team to present to the Ministry of Sport before taking account of an appointment.
