Alexandre Dimitri Song Billong, better known as Alex Song, is a Cameroonian footballer who plays for FC Barcelona and the Cameroon national team. He plays as a central or defensive midfielder, and can also play as a central defender. He is the cousin of former footballer Rigobert Song. Originally a utility player on the fringes of the first team, Song quickly became an integral part of Arsenal’s starting eleven during the preseason to the 2008–09 campaign. He played for Cameroon in 2010 FIFA World Cup. Song was called up for the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations and was the only Cameroonian named in the Team of the Tournament. Known for his colourful hair dye, Song also possesses a French passport.

A veteran blessed with enduring bursts of pace and an unerring eye for goal, Milla took Cameroon into uncharted territory for an African team as they reached the quarter-finals of the 1990 FIFA World Cup in Italy.

He was born in Nkenglicock, Cameroon. Known for his defensive skills, Song usually plays as a centre back but can also operate at right back. Internationally, he has played at a record eight Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and served as captain in five, a record, and holds the record of most consecutive games played in the tournament with 35 first team games. He has won two CAF Africa Cup of Nations titles in 2000 and 2002. In 2009, Song was dropped as Cameroon skipper by new coach Paul Le Guen, who eventually appointed Samuel Eto’o as the new captain but later caused concerns as Rigobert song had never been on the bench in more than 11 years for Cameroon. With 137 appearances, Song also holds the record of the most capped player in the history of the Cameroon national team and has played in four World Cups, in 1994, 1998, 2002, and 2010. Song started his professional career with Metz and helped the club to win the French League Cup back in 1996. After appearing at the 1998 World Cup he joined Salernitana which newly promoted to Serie A. In January 1999 he left Italy to start successive stints with Liverpool, West Ham United and Cologne but after failing to hold down a first-team place he returned to France to play for RC Lens. He stayed there until 2004 and moved on to Turkey, where he spent four years with Galatasaray, winning two Turkish League titles and the Turkish Cup. Song then signed a contract with Trabzonspor in 2008, where he won another Turkish Cup and stayed until 2010.

In the early 1960s, Bebey moved to France and started work in the arts, establishing himself as a musician, sculptor, and writer. His most popular novel was Agatha Moudio’s Son. He also worked as a consultant for UNESCO. Bebey released his first album in 1969. His music was primarily guitar-based, although he integrated traditional African instruments as well. His style was groundbreaking, merging Cameroonian makossa with classical guitar, jazz, and pop in a mix that could be intellectual, humorous, or serious. He sang in Duala, English, and French. Bebey helped launch the career of Manu Dibango. Bebey released more than 20 albums over his career. John Williams’ piece ‘Hello Francis’ is written as a tribute to Bebey.

Françoise Mbango Etone is a Cameroonian-born female track and field athlete. She has competed internationally for France since 2010. While competing for Cameroon, Etone was a gold medalist in the triple jump at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. She retained her title with an Olympic record distance of 15.39m at the Beijing Olympics in 2008. She is also a talented long jumper who finished second at the African Championships in 1999. She is the first athlete representing Cameroon to win medals at the World Championships, Commonwealth Games and Olympic Games. She has been a scholarship holder with the Olympic Solidarity program since November 2002. During the 2005-06 academic year, she lived in New York City on a scholarship to attend St. John’s University in Queens. The scholarship was made possible through the collaboration of the American electricity company AES Sonel along with US Ambassador to Cameroon, Niels Marquardt. She selected St. John’s University for study because of the school’s support of cultural programs in Cameroon.

He was born in Matomb, Cameroon and played youth football in Cameroonian powerhouse Union Douala, the team for which he made his senior debut. After his spell in Cameroon, in 1998, he moved to Greece where he played football for several clubs including Ethnikos, Panachaiki, Aris, Panathinaikos and Iraklis in a time span of nine and a half years. Subsequently, in January 2007, he moved to Bundesliga outfit VfL Bochum where he played for three and a half years. After a brief stay at Azerbaijani club FK Baku, in January 2011 he returned to Greece to have a second spell at Iraklis. Epalle was Iraklis’ top-scorer for the 2005–06 season. Started at the end of March 2012, he has made his first appearance and play for Sarawak FA alongside with his fellow Cameroon friend, Guy Bwele. Epalle has won 31 caps for Cameroon. He was a member of the Cameroon side that won the gold medal in the 2000 Summer Olympics football tournament. Epalle was also a member of the Cameroon squad that won the 2002 African Cup of Nations.

Guy Bertrand Madjo is a Cameroonian footballer who played for Hong Kong First Division League side Tuen Mun SA. Following a spell playing football in his native Cameroon, Madjo moved to England and played for Petersfield Town of the Wessex League. He attracted the attention of Bristol City, signing for the club in August 2005. Having only made a handful of appearances for Bristol City, Madjo joined Forest Green Rovers on loan in November 2005, making the loan move permanent in January 2006. At the end of 2005–06 season, he was released by Forest Green after failing to agree terms on a new contract. He ultimately signed for newly promoted Conference National club Stafford Rangers on a free transfer in August 2006, spending a season with the club. In June 2007, Madjo signed for Crawley Town on a free transfer. He scored 11 goals in 18 games at the start of the 2007–08 campaign, which attracted the attention of a number of Football League clubs. In November 2007, Madjo signed for Cheltenham Town on loan, with a view to a permanent move. However, he only played five times for the club, and returned to Crawley in January 2008 after hearing of interest from Shrewsbury Town. Madjo signed for Shrewsbury shortly after, commanding a £20,000 transfer fee. He spent a year with the club, although made no appearances during the 2008–09 season. In January 2009, Madjo opted for a move abroad, joining Chinese League One side Guangdong Sunray Cave on a free transfer. The following season, he played for KS Bylis Ballsh in the Albanian Superliga. He returned to England in June 2011, signing for newly promoted League One club Stevenage on a free transfer. Beleck began his career at Greek team Panthrakikos, breaking into the first-team at the age of 16. Joseph-Antoine Bell, sometimes referred to as JoJo Bell is a former Cameroonian international football goalkeeper. In a 20-year career, he played in his native Cameroon as well as in Côte d’Ivoire and Egypt before moving to France, where he played for several top-level clubs including Marseille, Bordeaux and eventually ending his playing career with Saint-Étienne. He represented the national team in three World Cups, the 1984 Summer Olympics and several African Cup of Nations.

On his debut in Malaysian football, he managed to score two goals, thus giving a 2-1 win over Kelantan FA in the 2012 Malaysia Charity Shield. This was Negeri Sembilan’s first Charity Shield title since 1985. With Negeri Sembilan, Owona would end the season joint top scorer in the league, with 15 goals. Owona previously played for FC Metz in the Ligue 2 of France.

Pierre Djaka Njanka-Beyaka is a Cameroonian football player. He is previously playing in Indonesia for Persisam Putra Samarinda on Indonesia Super League. Njanka played for Cameroon at the 1998 and 2002 World Cups, as well as the 2004 African Nations Cup. He has been capped 47 times for his country. He scored a goal against Austria in World Cup 1998. Njanka previously played for RC Strasbourg, CS Sedan and FC Istres in the French Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. He also had a trial with English Premier League side Sunderland A.F.C. in July 2000 and played in a pre-season match between Sunderland and KV Mechelen.
