Mrs. and Mr. Ambassador Weya

Mrs. and Mr. Ambassador Weya

Meeting Mrs. Solange Weya and her husband His Excellency Ambassador Weya of Cote d’Ivoire in Japan

Of all the Embassies I visited in Tokyo and the residence, this was my favorite encounter. The beautiful welcome of Mrs. Weya, spouse of Ambassador Weya of Cote d’Ivoire in Japan, felt so sincere and real and the fact that she called on His Excellency, to come to the meeting was so revealing to me as an act of heaven. First of all, this was planned just 3 days ago, after my meeting with Yuko Nakagawa who just happened to be best friend with Mrs. Weya. Yuko speaks French fluently and has been a great help to the Cote d’Ivoire embassy in so many needed occasions. On that foundation, I just opened up my heart and told them most of my thoughts on Africa and how Cote d’Ivoire came to be chosen as the headquarters of Marine Foundation Africa. Indeed, our President there, Mrs. Koura N. Ouattara has done amazing work to successfully register the foundation there through its international articles of incorporation (written in great part by Attorney Adama Ndao) and 2 bank accounts for the foundation. To me, it was more than just a meeting, 2 days to my departure to Abidjan but mainly a blessing from Mr. and Mrs. Ambassador that needed to be. Yuko also was able to respond to good sharing and I have also listened to His Excellency’s amazing plans to create viable and durable relations between Japan and Cote d’Ivoire. Mrs. Weya is also the president of the “African Spouse of Ambassadors of Tokyo” and she holds many responsibilities noticeably for the work her association is doing to send funds to support African special causes for children. Marine Foundation, from this day on, will become an important ally, friends, and supporter and that is a commitment that I am gladly appointing the entire organization in Japan to follow up with. The residence was beautifully decorated with art and architectural design of modern days. I felt at home there, not by the beauty of the environment, but mainly by the heartfelt messages of Mrs. and Mr. His Excelency Ambassador Weya. What a sensational afternoon and way to depart to the grand opening of the Marine Foundation Africa in Abidjan.

Shigeru Shiraki

Shigeru Shiraki

Meeting Shigeru Shiraki, 21st Century’s Most Invaluable & Influential  Medical Pioneer

Yes, it is true, Mr. Shigeru Shiraki will soon become the most influential person of the 21st century since he has discovered the remedy to the most devastating sickness in the world: cancer. This is not a drill or a false alarm, it is the reality as something that would have had to come anyway. Isn’t it the way of our world? Just like electricity or the amazing work of Louis Pasteur, these are reforms that cannot be avoided. Yes, there will be the old establishment that is going to oppose anything that forges a hole in their wallet, but that is indisputably the destiny of mankind to resolve problems whichever they are and technology, the last 100 years, has proven just that. When on the brink of discovery, of the most important issue in health recovery, Shigeru had to go through difficulties only him can really describe. I was fortunate to be introduced by Yuka Kobayashi and Takuya Adachi. After years of hard work he finally succeeded and now on the way to changing the world’s medical platform. I can only share that much today since we will meet again for further discussion, but I can tell you that the future is very bright as nothing can ever stop providential work.

Yuka is an amazing translator as well. She did amazing work with being a perfect coordinator between us while exchanging our stories. She has grace, beauty and delicate attention when it comes to presenting or delivering messages. It was a historical moment and the near future will be here to prove it.

Embassy of Brazil

Embassy of Brazil

Visit at the Embassy of Brazil was delightful – the Coffee excellent!

JUNE  2018

Minister Counsellor & Deputy Chief of Mission Mr. Francisco Cannabraya, was most welcoming at the Embassy of Brazil where I felt right at home. Not just him but also the staff there, all so happy and smiling as if we had literally stepped out of Japan for a while…

And yes the coffee was good! Today, Brazil is the world’s largest coffee producer and is becoming a significant player in the specialty coffee industry. Bourbon, Typica, Caturra, and Mundo Novo coffee varietals are grown in the states of Paraná, Espirito Santos, São Paulo, Minas Gerais, and Bahia. Therefore today, we had a chance to meet some of these companies and even taste their coffee. I loved it.

As I explained to Counsellor Cannabrava, I thought it would be a chance for Marine Foundation to use their beautiful seminar facility to invite our members in the discovery of this great nation. We have ways to promote a region that are not conventional to what everybody does when the focus will usually concern the status of what is selling well or looking great. The country’s asset does not entirely lie in its products or natural environment to attract, but one must rely on more internal or fascinating content that might just do a better job of presenting the country altogether. If people are not fascinated by something that can stimulate the heart and mind, little is the chance for the experience to sustain in the curious mind, and so quickly forgotten, there are not enough charisma to retain the potential consumer, investor or sponsor. On that note, I would like to initiate another form of PR for nations like Brazil which deserve much more attention.

We do have yet to discover the many new ways to express a nation’s bounty, not just a commercial intention, but something that will live anchor to the heart in many moons to come.

Organization:

This event was entirely organized by Mrs. Celia Correia a Brazil national who has done lots of work to support the Brazilian community of Japan and Asia.

The Marine Foundation was reached out by coordinator Mr. Ricardo  Kajiwara a Brazilain-Japanese proud member of always ensuring good relations between the two countries with an effort to bring sound developments to both regions of Japan and Brazil.

Surprising Visit at the Embassy of Oman & Abeer’s Art is beautiful!
7
MAY  2018
It’s important to have good relations in Tokyo and Abeer Ayche spouse of the Ambassador of Oman in Tokyo is one wonderful friend! A visit at the Embassy of Oman for the occasion of a private party to display her beautiful talent as a photographer left me with unexpected encounters…
I remember meeting Abeer Ayche many years ago when she was just taking on photography as her favorite art and pass time and yes she has come a long way to some mastery, now displaying some hundreds of her masterpiece in the beautiful hall of the majestuous Oman Embassy of Tokyo. As we arrived at the venue, Ayumi and I were meet by the many blue licensed plates diplomatic cars parked all along the Hiroo prime neighborhood of Tokyo. Little did I know, the guest list was not very large but carved with VIP’s we don’t usually see on many occasions, a friend-only type of gathering who appreciates the conquest of time to the betterment of each other. One of Abeer’s good friend is Mrs. Abe, First Lady of Japan and frankly, that was good enough to draw attention to the rest of the crowd, wondering who else was here to give this exhibit all the splendor it so deserves. Abeer has a beautiful child who is handicapped and she has always touched my heart in the way her passion in life and others is far above than many of her high ranking circles. Truly grateful to have met this day from the kindness of her invitation and leading us to greet and the First Lady of Japan. Saying that I am simply expressing that ART is a language that everyone can understand, regardless of status or background, we stand equally in awe to the creation of one’s creation bravely displayed to the recognition of others. Thank you Abeer, you were so beautiful as ever and your exhibit’s message was to me, a message of peace, acceptance and the most beautiful photography I have ever seen in Tokyo!
