The morning light filters through the curtains, casting gentle rays of gold upon my desk. And as I sit, the eternal question arises, “What are my priorities today?” Two out of a thousand achievements may seem minuscule in the grand scope of human ambition, yet beneath such apparent triviality lies the grandeur of something larger, something cosmic. Perhaps it is this: to understand the music of the Sun itself, to grasp the melody of life that flows through every living thing.
Have you ever heard the Sun play its music, dear friends or readers? It is not a sound like that which we are accustomed to — the noise of traffic, the hum of electricity, or even the classical symphonies composed by human hands. No, the Sun’s music is far more divine, more ethereal, akin to Mozart’s genius, yet surpassing even his mastery. And I wonder — have you ever heard Mozart’s music in real-time? Have you ever stood before the waves of sound, each note rendered with precision and grace, so much so that you could believe the composer himself was there, guiding the orchestra’s hands?
Today, we are fortunate. We can listen to the past, to the voices of long-departed composers, immortalized on CDs, in concert halls, and through recordings. But what does it truly mean to hear music at such a high level of composition? It is not merely an intellectual exercise, not a pursuit of pleasure for the ear alone. No, when you genuinely hear such music, you hear the system of life itself. You hear the Sun, the waters, the air, the creation. Everything becomes vibration, sound, and a note in a symphony far more significant than any human being could create. It is the cosmos’ music, and it plays through each of us, whether we know it or not.
Life itself is a symphony composed by a hand unseen but ever-present. Just as an orchestra requires a conductor to guide it, creation also requires a master, a Creator. And what, then, is our mission on this earth? Indeed, it must imitate that the Creator takes part in His composition. That is where we, humanity, diverge from the animal kingdom. We are not merely creatures of instinct, bound to the rhythms of survival. No, we can create, compose, or bring harmony where there was once only dissonance.
Your life, dear friend, is an orchestra. The question is, will you choose to be the conductor or merely one of the musicians? It does not matter in the end; for each of us, in our own way, it is the conductor of our life. Every decision, every action, and every thought is a note in the grand composition of our existence. But if you wish for others to hear your sound or for your music to resonate beyond the confines of your own soul, then you must either join a grand orchestra or create one of your own. To join or to make — the choice is yours, but in either case, the goal is the same: to understand the system.
The system of life, like the system of music, is complex. It requires an understanding of balance, timing, and harmony. And what is the Marine Foundation, if not a grand orchestra? It is not merely an organization; it is the Creator of many conductors, of many sounds, each tuned to the culture, background, and history of its people. In this orchestra, no note is out of place; no musician is expendable. Each of you, dear friend, is more precious than you can imagine. You are a note in the divine symphony; without you, the music would be incomplete.
Do you hear it now? The music of heaven, the celestial sound that fills the air, if only you would listen. It asks you what orchestra you will create. What harmony will you bring into the world? Will it be for the sake of your family, your friends, your community, or your nation? The choice is yours, but the music demands that you choose. It requires that you play your part, not for yourself alone, but for the sake of others.
Authentic music, which touches the soul and echoes through eternity, is not born of selfish ambition. It is not created by those who seek wealth or fame. Think of Mozart or Vincent van Gogh. Were they successful in business? No. They died in poverty, misunderstood by the very society they sought to enlighten. And yet, their art lives on, generation after generation. Their music and paintings continue to speak to and inspire us long after their deaths.
What does this tell us? It tells us that the value of a life is not measured in money or status but in the depth of its creation. Before you listen to the voices of the world — the business principles that demand productivity, the societal norms that define success — listen first to the heart of creation itself. And that, dear friend, is the secret to life. To give as the Sun gives, to create as the Creator creates, without concern for recognition or success. In doing so, you will have gained this world and the span of eternity.
Consider the orchestra once more. It is not a solitary endeavor. It requires collaboration, unity, and merging many voices into one. And so it is with humanity. We are not meant to live in isolation, to pursue our desires at the expense of others. No, we are meant to combine to create a greater harmony than the sum of its parts. This is the essence of the Marine Foundation. It is not a single voice but a chorus, a symphony of individuals, each one playing their part and contributing to the whole.
And what is your part? What note will you play in this grand composition? The choice, as always, is yours. But remember, the music of the Sun plays on whether you choose to listen or not. in North Africa through key initiatives led by Naima Ben Mlouka, particularly the “Communication Queens” and the Pan African Wound Healing (PAWH) initiative. Under Naima’s visionary leadership, the “Communication Queens” initiative focuses on empowering female leaders through enhanced communication, fostering collaboration, and creating a network of influential women engaged in regional and global dialogues on social progress and development. This movement highlights the rising role of women in leadership across North Africa, contributing to economic growth and cultural exchange.
In healthcare, Naima is spearheading the PAWH initiative, addressing the critical issue of wound care in Africa. By promoting interdisciplinary research, training, and collaboration, the initiative seeks to improve healthcare systems across the continent, particularly in low-resource settings. Naima’s leadership is pivotal in uniting medical professionals and institutions to exchange knowledge and practices, fostering better healthcare outcomes.
Moreover, the Marine Foundation Japan is establishing Mauritania as its operational hub for Africa. The position of the General Secretary of the UNA (United Nations of Africa) within the framework of the Marine Foundation’s United Five Oceans (U5O) World Peace Confederation is a prestigious and influential role. As one of the five boards of the U5O, the UNA holds a continental responsibility for Africa, aiming to foster unity and prosperity among its member nations.
Here are the key elements that define this position:
Role and Responsibilities
Continental Leadership: The General Secretary is the top representative for the UNA, responsible for overseeing and guiding the mission of African unity and development. The role involves driving collaboration among African nations, with the primary focus on growth, stability, and mutual prosperity.
Reporting Structure: The General Secretary is not merely a figurehead but has real decision-making power. They report directly to the Chairman of the U5O, with the ability to implement decisions across all boards of the organization. This creates a close link between continental leadership and the broader global peace mission of U5O.
Appointment: Uniquely, the General Secretary is appointed through the chamber of law governed by 15 supervisory members of the Marine Foundation, rather than being elected by national members. National Membership: The UNA facilitates the inclusion of nations through an important democratic process. To become a national member of the UNA, a country’s membership must be agreed upon by a vote of 50 national ambassadors from any African country. This shows the General Secretary’s role in ensuring the integrity of the process and promoting unity among member nations.
Annual Ambassadors’ Banquet: One of the General Secretary’s key activities is the orchestration of the “Banquet of Ambassadors,” an annual diplomatic event in each capital city across Africa, held every month over 12 months. This provides an ongoing platform for diplomacy, collaboration, and celebration of progress among African nations.
Symbol of Leadership
As a unifying figure, the General Secretary represents the voice and vision of African nations within a global confederation.
